Del, Heiro, and other indie artist really put a focus on music and they dont have huge marketing machines behind them to put them on tv/radio/ an so forth. Indie artist now have the net to put their stuff out which has changed the game. This is why Drake, Wale, and others who have really put in time and built and audience via the net and bloggers are coming up.

Because the majority of people, we’ll call the uneducated and less intelligent masses, do not understand complex metaphors and structured lyrics like Dell projects. They prefer catchy music about material items and simple things, such as sex, violence and money.
Simply put, if you put Deltron on the radio, you won’t make money. Music like this creates artists, music on the radio creates performers.
